En ce qui concerne les concerts Pitchs en Ré, J'ai travaillé longuement à développer mon propre instrument en me basant sur le travail de Leo Rowsome. Je suis arrivé à un instrument avec un joli timbre chaleureux, avec un bel équilibre entre registre aigu et grave le tout en étant moins puissant, s'intégrant mieux dans une session sans couvrir les autres instruments. (le but d'une session étant bien sur d'échanger et de jouer ensemble).
La perce des bourdons a aussi été modifiée en conséquence.
Au chanter, on atteint facilement le troisième Ré, et même le hard Mi (avec le doigté correspondant bien sur)
On obtient au final un instrument consommant peu d'air. Le son est bien équilibré entre chanter bourdons et régulateurs.
Pour les Flat-set (C, B, B flat) je me suis
basé sur le travail de Harrington et de Kenna. Sur ces sets (half-set et full-set) le bourdon basse est en position centrale, il en sera bientôt de même sur les concert pitch.
When it comes to concert-D pipes, I worked extensively on developing my own instrument, based on the work of Leo Rowsome.The result is an instrument with a warm timbre and a lovely balance between high and low registers, designed to integrate confidently into a session but without drowning out the other instruments. (the purpose of a session being, of course, to exchange and play together).
The drones have also been created with session playing in mind. The chanter construction makes it easy to reach and maintain both the third D and the hard E.
Altogether, the instrument consumes little air, with the tone well balanced between the chanter drones and regulators.
My Flat sets (C, B, B flat) are based on the work of Harrington and Kenna. On these sets (half-set and full-set) the bass drone is in the central position, it will soon be the case for the concert pitch sets as well.
